Weekend @ the Blues 120th Celebration Horse Show
Description
SPIRIT OF THE SHOW
In 1904 the town of Milton, Oregon started a Horse Show as a community celebration. Horses came for all over the Pacific Northwest and Canada to compete in halter classes. From 1910 to 1934 the community paired the Strawberry Festival with the Horse Show, making it a regional premier event. United States President, William Taft, attended the Horse Show in 1911 and addressed Milton’s citizens at the Strawberry Festival. The Horse Show partnered with the Pea Festival from 1936 to 1975 and then was moved to the original Pioneer Posse on the Walla Walla River Road in 1976.
